This servicing will fully rectify the very common problem with the A-1 and other Canon cameras that make a 'squealing' sound when the shutter is fired.

Many videos online about a quick 'fix' for this isssue, where they show oil being blindly dripped into the camera through a screw hole, often cause an even bigger problem shortly afterwards with the oil spreading out within the camera. Not a good idea at all!

Your camera will be serviced in accordance with the Canon service manual specifications.

It will be initially inspected to confirm any issues, dismantled to access relevant assemblies and components.

Components will be ultrasonically cleaned, inspected for wear or damage and replaced if required (major components that have failed that are outside of the scope of a standard service, such as pentaprisms, shutter curtains etc.)  will incur additional cost, but only carried out with the owners permission. No unauthorised charges will be made).

All foam seals - external and internal - will be removed and replaced with new OEM standard Japanese black foam, even if they appear to be in good condition or recently replaced by the camera owner.

Electrical wiring will be replaced if required.

Lubrication of the correct grades will be applied as per the service manual and the camera will be reassembled.

The shutter and light meter will be tested, and adjusted if required

Testing to ensure correct operation and a final clean of the external surfaces will have your camera back to optimal performance for many years to come!

This is a very complex camera that requires extreme care and accuracy when servicing it. If the camera has had any unsuccessful attempt to repair it or been tampered with and this is not disclosed, it will be returned and any payment will be refunded, less postage cost.
